I. Summary
Who: Japanese people
What: A nuclear power plant is in trouble of a meltdown.
When: March 18 2011
Where: Japan
Why: Because an earthquake and a tsunami caused a break in the power system to the water that is pumped into the reactors.
II. Reflection
Text to Self:
This relates to me in the way that I had to race against the clock to finish a project that was due the next day with a lot of work to do. The people in the nuclear facility have to hurry but do their best to avert a total nuclear meltdown of the four reactors. I had to do the best that I could in a small amount of time in order to get the best grade that I could get. If the Japanese people do not stop the reactors from melting down they will have failed and lots of other people will be affected by the radiation that will be released.
Text to Text:
This relates to a book that I read in which a group is trying to diffuse a very dangerous bomb that could destroy a city. The people that are trying to stop the meltdown in Japan are risking their lifes in the same way that the people in the book are. If they are not able to stop the explosion a catastrophic event will occur which will affect more than just the immediate area of the explosion. Japan needs to be able to stop this from happening to help themselves and their people.
Text to World:
This affects the rest of the world in the way that if the nuclear reactors meltdown then the raditation will spread to the rest of the world. If this happens many people around the world will be affected by the radiation and may become sick. Japan and its neighboring countries will be the most hard hit by the radiation which will take many years for it to dissapate. The meltdown needs to be averted at all costs so that no one has to deal with widespread radiation.
