I. Summary
Potential Government Shutdown
Who: Congress
What: The government may shutdown if the budget is not decided.
When: February 26, 2011
Where: United States
Why: Because the Republicans and Democrats cannot decide on a fixed budget.
II. Reflection
Text to Self:
This relates to me in the way that sometimes when my brother and I argue about doing something we come to a stand still. We both want to do different things but because neither of us will back down nothing gets done. The same thing is going on with the Republicans and the Democrats about the budget for 2012. If both sides can come to an agreement then the potential government shutdown can be averted.
Text to Text:
This relates to a book I read about two different families fighting each other without even trying to come to an agreement. They continue to be against each other causing them to be able to do nothing else but fight. Democrats and Republicans need to come to an agreement and do something about the way the economy is getting worse. Both the two families and the two political parties oppose each other and fight just for the sake of fighting.
Text to World:
This effects the rest of the world in the way that if the government of the U.S. shuts down then countries that are recieving our help will lose that help. It would also cause civil unrest in many countries that looked up to the U.S. If the government shuts down in this country others would soon follow in our footsteps. If the US's government shutdown then the rest of the world would also be greatly effected and probably take a turn for the worse.
