II. Reflection

Text to Self:
This relates to me in the fact that I sometimes feel that the government is not doing a good job and should have some people replaced. The U.S. government has been passing laws and bills like the healthcare bill that the majority of the people do not want enacted. They have been spending money that we do not have on useless things and making our national debt bigger. I can somewhat sympathize with the want to riot but not with their ideals.

Text to Text:
This article reminds me of something I read about Mohandas Ghandi protesting the Indian government but he used nonviolent ways. Ghandi was trying to get the government to fix itself so the common people would be better off. The Egyptians are trying to overthrow the government and they are doing it in a violent way. Ghandi was successful in his attempt and the government changed for the better but I think that the Egyptians may just make it worst.

Text to World:
This could affect the rest of the world in which an Islamic Radicals group may take power and make things even worse in the Middle East. The U.S. would lose one of the only allies that it has in the Middle East. This could create a problem with the U.S. getting oil and make the fight in the Middle East harder. If the Egyptian government is overthrown and then ruled by Islamic Radicals then it will cause a lot of problems for the rest of the world.
